This was Matt Buckley’s primary design goal when originally conceiving and sculpting the range, utilizing such large proportions within his work to create pieces that have a bold and visually striking appearance. This is certainly echoed by many subjects that reside within both the past and present Edge Sculpture portfolio.

However, Matt has always enjoyed experimentation and over the past few years has been considering just how he can present his work on a smaller scale. Not to just sculpt smaller pieces but instead to explore the possibilities of turning what is a very large piece into a flawless miniaturised version of the original. The intention was to not only manufacture the miniature using the very same marble based stone casting material but to also paint the piece in the very same way as well.

Modern technological advances have most certainly aided with this new adventure but Matt has had to make many small adjustments within the pieces to make them both possible to make and yet retain a virtual identical likeness to the much larger original sculpture.

Height 5.9 inches (149mm)

Width 85mm (3.3 inches)

Depth 112mm (4.4 inches)

Designed and sculpted in England by Matt Buckley at his studios in Shropshire, Edge Sculpture is a collection influenced by style rather than subject. The mix of form, light and texture gives a unique feel to each individual piece.

We love that they're hand-painted - all with the same character but very slightly different.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2315/7605/files/A-740x740edge-sculpture-miniature-sitting-black-and-white-cat.webp?v=1792670723
