🎄 The Maple Family's Advent Calendar Picks
We couldn't agree on just one Advent calendar in the Maple family — and, to be honest, we're not sure we would ever manage to!
Everyone has their own idea of what makes the perfect countdown to Christmas. For some of us, it's chocolate, for others it's sweets, candles or something a little more grown-up. And then there's Charlie, who obviously thinks he deserves one too.
So, we asked the Maple family which Advent calendar they'd choose for themselves this Christmas. Here's what everyone picked...
🕯️ Mum Karen — Yankee Candle Advent Calendar
Mum would choose the Yankee Candle Advent Calendar, and it really couldn't be more her.
She loves a candle, especially a festive scented candle! So the yankee advent is perfect as you get a different Christmas scent every day to enjoy. Light the candle, put your feet up and relax!
Her perfect Advent calendar: something cosy, fragrant and very Christmassy.

🍬 Rachel — Haribo Advent Calendar
Rachel's choice was never going to be difficult...
There was only ever going to be one advent calendar for Rachel, the girl with the sweetest tooth in Wales! The best part of this haribo advent is that theres a huge variety of products inside so you are getting a really great selection of sweets in the run up to Christmas! Now she just has to resist opening all 24 days on day 1…
Rachel's perfect Advent calendar: sweets, sweets and more sweets.
🧸 Robyn — Lindt Teddy Advent Calendar
Rachel's oldest, Robyn, would choose the Lindt Teddy Advent Calendar.
. She’s a chocolate fiend so this calendar is perfect and she’ll especially love the special Teddy waiting for her on the final day. A true taste of luxury for the run up to Christmas.
Robyn's perfect Advent calendar: Lindt chocolate, with a very special Teddy waiting at the end.
🦊 Lucas — The Gruffalo's Child Advent Calendar
Rachel's youngest, Lucas, would be choosing the Cocoba The Gruffalo's Child Advent Calendar.
It’s a favourite book of his and this calendar has such beautiful illustration; he’ll really love finding the window to open each morning.
Lucas's perfect Advent calendar: something fun, chocolatey and full of Christmas excitement.
🥃 Dad Rob — Anthon Berg Liqueur Chocolate Advent Calendar
Dad has gone in a slightly different direction...
Rob would choose the Anthon Berg 24 Mini Liqueur Filled Dark Chocolate Bottles Advent Calendar — because apparently one chocolate a day isn't quite enough unless it comes with a little boozy treat inside!
Containing 24 mini liqueur filled chocolates, it’s certainly a much more grown up way to count down to Christmas.
Dad's perfect Advent calendar: a little chocolate and a little treat for the grown-ups.
🐾 Charlie — Snow Friends Advent Calendar for Dogs
And then there's Charlie.
Naturally, the dog gets an Advent calendar too.
As a family full of dog lovers, we can never leave our favourite four-legged friends out. Family dog Charlie would definitely be a big fan of the Woodmansterne 'Snow Friends' Advent Calendar for Dogs. Each door holds a daily dog treat and we are sure that Charlie will be able to sniff this calendar out!
Charlie's perfect Advent calendar: anything that involves treats and him.

(Does he look like a dog who was forced to take a picture and just wants his treats... yes he does!)
🏠 Bethany — A Wooden Advent Calendar to Make My Own
Bethany always likes to go for something a little different and so the Alpine Houses Wood House Advent wooden advent calendar from Gisela Graham is perfect because it can be completely tailored to each individual. Each section can be filled with something festive, such as chocolate, sweets, a little piece of jewellery or a Christmas decoration. Your Christmas countdown can be personalised with all sorts of treats and surprises such as;
🍫 Individual chocolates — picked straight from the chocolate counter.
💍 Little gifts — tiny things like stud earrings would fit perfectly.
💄 Mini beauty treats — a lip balm, mini soap or another little beauty surprise.
🕯️ Freckle Face wax melts — perfect for making the house smell gorgeous during December.
You could even add little notes, favourite sweets, vouchers for a coffee or tiny Christmas surprises.
That's what I love about a reusable Advent calendar — you can change what goes inside every year, so it becomes part of your family's Christmas traditions.
🎄 Which Advent Calendar Would You Choose?
From seeing all the different options available, it’s clear that when it comes to Advent Calendars there is no one size fits all! But that’s the best part – you can choose exactly what suits you! Want sweets? Go for Rachel’s choice! Love a candle? Karen’s pick is the one for you. And if you’re still undecided, take a look at what Bethany chose and put exactly what you want in. whatever you choose, there’s something really lovely about every December morning moment when you get to open the day knowing that there’s more to look forward to the next day!
Love,
The Maple Family x
